Node Category

• Chance nodes. There are two types of chance nodes, namely discrete chance nodes and continuous chance nodes. Discrete chance nodes are further subdivided into different subtypes.
• Decision nodes
• Utility nodes
• Instance nodes

Please note that there are some restrictions on how different categories of nodes can co-exist in a network: Decision and utility nodes cannot co-exist with continuous chance nodes.
